Who is Jared Carlson?

Jared was born in Denver, CO and currently lives in Parker, CO. He is a Realtor & Investor with an extensive construction background.

Jareds first major accomplishments began racing motorcycles. He grew up riding motorcycles and somewhere along the way decided to give motocross racing a shot. His first race was in 1984 in Lakewood, CO. He continued to race year after year and after 20 years of racing, 14 of them racing the Pro class, decided it was time to go out on a high note in 2004 with 2 championships, winning each class entered for the year. He has a record 7 championships in one year (2001) that stands to this day. His total championship count stands at 16. His racing took him to a national level racing in many states across the nation as well as locations such as India, Costa Rica, Cambodia and Barbados. Hes also the 1997 Cambodian National Champion.

The crazy thing is that for most, that would be a full time job. Jareds accomplishments in racing were in addition to working and going to school full time, all at the same time!

Jareds work interests were focused around the construction industry. Jareds passion for building began at an early age when his eagerness to work with his hands fueled the satisfaction he felt while watching each of his projects evolve. Throughout his high school and college years, Jared always worked jobs related to building such as a laborer in a lumber yard and as a residential framer. While Jareds initial studies at the University of Colorado were geared toward engineering, Jared quickly realized that this did not fit his long-term ambitions. He transferred to Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, CO and graduated with high marks in the Construction Management program. Immediately after college, Jared went to work for Pulte Homes for five years and then transferred to John Laing Homes where he gained an additional 5 years of experience building homes and working his way up to the Director of Construction, overseeing all the construction field operations. During these relationships, Jared gained experience in everything from warranty operations to building homes to running the field operations. This experience, coupled with his degree in Construction Management from Colorado State University gives Jared a knowledge base and well defined perspective on the building process.

While working for John Laing Homes, Jareds goal of owning his own construction company began to take shape. In 2004, Jared opened the doors to one of Denvers premiere luxury builders - Carlson Homes. Carlson Homes primarily built homes in Denver, Douglas and Elbert County in the price range of $550,000-$1.5 Million. Large remodels and additions such as Pop Tops were also part of the business plan. While the companys primary focus is on home building, it was also a member of the Home Builders Association of Denver and an affiliate member of Douglas/Elbert Realtor Association. Since incorporating, Jared has attained a Real Estate license in Colorado and is an active real estate broker.

Jared obtained his Real Estate license in 2006, initially for his own deals focused around his building company. As his real estate experience grew and the luxury home market began to soften he made the switch into full time real estate. Some may say thats the same thing, but for Jared his best years have been 2010 and 2011 during some of the hardest times. The real estate business, his clients and relationships have provided him with great satisfaction. His clients have nothing but good things to say about him and he has obtained the designations of SFR-Short Sale and Foreclosure Resource Certified, CDPE-Certified Distressed Property Expert & REO Certified-Lender Owned Properties. He is also a 2011 Five Star Real Estate Agent. The Five Star Real Estate Agent Program is designed to identify and showcase real estate agents in a local market who score highest in overall satisfaction. As part of an in-depth research process, real estate agents are evaluated by their customers and real estate industry professional based on customer service, integrity, market knowledge, communication and negotiation skills, closing preparation, helping you find the right home, marketing the home being sold, and overall satisfaction. Jared has invested in Real Estate, flipped properties, held rentals and helped others do the same in their path to wealth. He has also created the My Teacher Program which is designed do help teachers in their real estate endeavors.

Jared is a Colorado Native and has a loving family; his wife Sherri, also a Colorado Native, twin daughters Paige and Peyton and their cat Nanook. Sherri is a first grade teacher and Paige and Peyton are in grade school. We love to camp, go snowmobiling, spend time in the mountains, go to the lake with friends, golf, mountain biking and motocross.

Jared Carlson, Founder of the My Teacher Program is a licensed real estate agent with Your Castle Real Estate.

I've been married to a teacher since 1998 and during this time my career has gone from builder to real estate agent; both of which serve the public in different ways. I know my career and days are very different from my wife and I commend her for what she does. We have twin daughters in school so I'm exposed to even more of the educational system, specifically how teachers interact with parents. Lately, I have been hearing more and more about the situations and challenges my wife and her teacher friends are going through. Its been years since they've had a raise, budgets are being cut back, staff is slimmer, and its the old story of do more with less. They are constantly being asked to work harder and longer without the resources they need and to top it off, the class sizes continue to grow all while the student performance must remain high.

It's putting HUGE amounts of pressure on the teachers!

Teachers are unique in that they're not in it for the money (although that would be great), they're in it for the LOVE of it. The stories of new students coming in at different times of the year and how the teachers are able to gel them into the class and get them caught up so the kids have a sense of comfort and belonging - is triumphant! Not to mention that they learn on top of this! Its made me realize just how under-appreciated our teachers really are. But I dont have to tell you, nobody cares until its their own child that you have to teach, right? I've never seen or heard of a teacher with an easy class.
